Dr. Vogel is a board eligible and fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine, as well as providing services in both general and trauma orthopaedic surgery. He specializes in complex arthroscopic and open surgery of the shoulder, knee, and hip, as well as shoulder arthroplasty/reconstruction.
He recently completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where he received specific training in surgical procedures focused on the shoulder, knee, and hip, including multiligamentous knee reconstruction, patellar instability, meniscus repair, cartilage restoration, complex shoulder instability, rotator cuff repair, hip arthroscopy, and shoulder arthroplasty. During his fellowship, he served as assistant team physician for multiple athletic programs including UNC, NC State, Shaw University, the Carolina Hurricanes, and multiple local high schools. He worked closely with both the UNC basketball and NC State football programs during their 2023-2024 seasons. He looks forward to providing the same standard of care to the residents of the CSRA.
Dr. Vogel was born and raised in Aliquippa, PA, just outside Pittsburgh, PA. He earned his undergraduate degree from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, where he played four years on the baseball team. When not in the office, Dr. Vogel enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and dog. He loves being outdoors, fishing/hunting/hiking, baseball, grilling, and supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers/Pirates/Penguins.
